How’s your autumn?
Not even two weeks ago, Benny and I returned from three stupendous shows on the Atlantic, beginning with Jonnie Reinhart’s A Queer Cabaret at New York’s Club Cumming. The next night All Aboard! the Train of Thought departed from Birdland, which critic Michael Barbieri hails as “intelligent, multi-layered, [and] textured” (thanks Michael). The miniature tour of sorts culminated with All in the Family co-starring mom Valerie Perri at Portland, Maine’s Good Theater, where we also watched mom star in Joshua Harmon’s Admissions. In time for this season Benny and I extend gratitude to all our friends and family who joined in our East Coast ventures.
Now foreseeably home for the duration of the year (and missing seafood chowder), Benny and I prepare upcoming Los Angeles performances early next year. Recently Luckman Fine Arts announced their 19/20 season including And On the 366th Day, a brand new, once-in-every-four-years affair from jackbenny Saturday, February 29, 8p. A whopping batch of new songs and some favorite originals will leap from our fingers and folds in the Luckman’s Intimate Theatre, where last year management had to literally add two rows of seats to accommodate the sold-out house. Sales are open NOW online and (323) 343-6600, and soon we’ll open a very unique promo when you buy in person at Luckman’s Box Office.
Benny and I can’t wait to officially announce two future collaborations with the LA Philharmonic (!!!)—I’ll surely send you the information when we release in the coming weeks. Meantime, the 2020 Nice Jewish Guys Calendar is available from many online and brick-and-mortar retailers. One friend found us on sale at the Philadelphia Jewish Museum. Benny asked the publishers if he could buy a bulk at wholesale to sign and sell at our shows; they never returned our message…who’s more Jewish?
Love,
Jack
